Jag har utbildat mig på Axelsons Animal Massage school till diplomerad hästmassör. Det är en utbildning i 5 steg i klassisk hästmassage med inriktning att stimulera blodcirkulationen och lösa upp spänningar i hästens kropp.
I utbildningen lär man sig arbeta med massage, stretch samt stresspunktsbehandling, med avsikt att lösa upp lokala spänningar som är karaktäristiska för sporthästar. Man lär sig lymfmassage, avancerad palpation samt specialbehandlingar för hals, bog, rygg, höft och ben. Utbildningen är omfattande med mycket teori för att som hästmassör kunna täcka in en helhet i hästen.
Man läser om hästens ytliga skelettmuskulatur och dess funktioner i samband med rörelseproblem, rörelseapparatens anatomi, rörelseutvärdering, träningsfysiologi, skelett-, ligament, sen- och ledlära, kompensationsmönster i muskler för olika ledbesvär, nervlära samt hovlära.
